Card Sorting

Card sorting is a UX research technique in which users categorize topics. Card sorting is one technique that may be required to create an information architecture (IA) that meets the expectations of users.

Sorting cards helps you understand and study your users' expectations more and assures you of the correctness of the information you collected about the user in the discovery phase, remember? This information gained from card sorting helps you create a robust content structure that contains everything the user is looking for, meets their expectations, and meets their needs.

Card sorting, as the name implies, is done with cards. To begin, select a collection of subjects depending on the content you wish to feature on your website or app. Then write different topics on each card, jumble them in a random sequence, and then deliver them to the user to sort into piles.

Card sorting's goal is to get users to categorize information in a way that makes sense to them. This allows you to better understand your visitors' mental models and, as a result, identify the ideal method to organize your site's information.

We can now go into the topic in detail and learn about the types of card sorting.
